SCS Celebrates Graduation of Seminary Professor Doug Jackson

SCS is proud to announce the graduation of Doug Jackson from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Dr. Jackson received a Doctor of Ministry, which was conferred at Truett Seminary's convocation on December 15, 2006. Dr. Jackson's project, entitled "A School for God's Service: An Experiment in Introducing Monastic Rhythms to the Work Environment of a Baptist Church Staff," was mentored by Dr. Bert B. Dominy, Professor of Christian Theology at Truett Seminary since 2001.

Doug Jackson came to SCS in 2006, after serving as pastor of Second Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, since 1993. In addition to teaching courses, Dr. Jackson functions as a liaison between Logsdon Seminary and local churches in Corpus Christi. His areas of specialization include spiritual formation and pastoral ministry.

SCS will host a reception celebrating Dr. Jackson's graduation. The reception will be held in the SCS main lobby on January 7, 2007 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
