Tony Celelli Inaugurated as Fourth President of SCS

On November 2, 2005, Tony Celelli assumed the presidency of the South Texas School of Christian Studies, the fourth in the institutions thirty-year history.

The inauguration was attended by faculty, staff, students, alumni, members of the SCS Board of Trustees, friends of SCS, as well as distinguished guests from Hardin-Simmons University and Howard Payne University.

A reception following the inauguration ceremony celebrated the event. Dr. Jesse Fletcher, President Emeritus at Hardin-Simmons University, spoke at the inauguration dinner at the Corpus Christi Omni Hotel that evening.

Tony Celelli has served in many areas of ministry during the last eighteen years, working with churches and non-profit mission organizations in New Mexico and Texas since 1988.    He received his seminary education at the School of Christian Studies, graduating in 2000.  He served as a Board of Trustees member for the Christian Education Activities Corporation (SCS) for five years prior to becoming President.  He also served as an adjunct faculty member from 2002-2005, before becoming a full-time faculty member as president. 

President Celelli is currently completing a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Dallas Baptist University, with a specialization in ethics.  He earned a Bachelor of Behavioral Science from Hardin-Simmons University in 1993 and a Master of Divinity from Logsdon Seminary in 2000.

Tony and his wife, Deanne, have two sons, Ren Scott and Castleton Lee.
